Race #6 is in the bag at the MMBA state championship series. Our OMW Racing Northern chapter is representing in full effect. Tom “singlespeed” Stolz is making some noise up North and would be really crushing it if it weren’t for a few technical difficulties. First of all lets talk results. Tom Placed 12th place in race #1 at the Yankee Springs Time Trial 04/17/11. He placed in 8th at race #2 at the Fort Custer Stampede 05/01/ 11 even after going off course for a distance. In just his 3rd start in the series this past weekend he nails the podium and gets 3rd place at the Stoney Creek Time trial in Shelby Township, Michigan 07/24/11. In the interim, Tom came across some unfortunate events that sidelined his Championship aspirations. One, it doesn’t help when your frame calls it quits. As smooth as Tom is on a bike, an aluminum frame can only take so much pedaling Damn It! It was nice for the manufacturer to send a replacement frame but would have been even nicer if they would have sent the right frame! You want me to ride this?!! They apparently don’t know who you are Tom. Now with the correct frame in hand Tom builts it up with one thing in mind, taking things to a Whole Nutha Level!!
Did you know they’re in a heat wave up there?!!! It must be brutal!! All I know is Austin, Texas is averaging 102-108 Fahrenheit this week. Its like breathing in a hot oven. I guess its hard on the North guys being in the 90′s though. Hang in there Tom!!!

Another great Championship season of racing our bikes all over this great state of Texas!!It was another exciting season of racing for the team. We had racers at every race. We had some racers that got on the line at EVERY single race. Wouldn’t you just know that it was Dan and Lance that made it to every race across this great state! OMW Racing put a total of 43 racers on the line this season making it quite a special season. More OMW racers than ever were participating this year. That’s just good shit if you know what I mean.
Speaking of some good shit, The TMBRA Texas State Championship finale was the Rocky Hill Round Up in beautiful Smithville, Texas. Ex- Texas State Champion, Paul Uhl and company had already promised us some new trail and a really good time but they took it to a WHOLE….NUTHER…..LEVEL !!! Much UNLIKE the Mad Duck Dash from last weekend, the Rocky Hill Round Up served up FREE BEER and Jammin music all weekend long, not to mention the sweet single track trails thru the Piney woods. Channo, what woods are those again??? The SMRCFNA, right? Amy and her people at the Shiner Brewery brought in tons of free Shiner Beer for everyone’s enjoyment. Bottles and kegs all around. Thank you both for all you did Paul and Amy and all your peeps!! Not only was there free beer and music pumping at the start/finish line area but Paul had free beer and music pumping on the amateur loop (at The Wall) and out on the pro loop too. Always nice to hear your name and get inspired when you’re out on the course.

Good afternoon race fans. Here we are at this years edition of the Mellow Johnny’s Spring Classic in beautiful Dripping Springs Texas. Looks like OMW Racing is gonna have 5 racers on the line this weekend. We got Dan and Lance (of course), Gerad, Rob, and Josh showing up for the activities. Josh is racing Saturday morning real early, 8:45am, and the rest of us go off on Sunday at 9am. There are alot of National level pros racing this weekend, including Max Plaxton, Adam Craig, and XXXXXX. Jeremy Horgan-Kabelski and his lovely wife Heather Irminger were signed up to defend their titles but apparently fell ill prior to race day and had to opt out this weekend. They are doing a 3.7 mile loop 5 times and the course set up is very fan friendly with many great viewing spots to catch all the action. So, lets race people!!
