So, here we are again. Time to head out east to Coldspring, Texas to race through the very beautiful pined woods of the Sam Houston National Forest. Its a beautiful area of Texas and is part of the southern most region of coniferous forest in North America. For you regular folk that means pretty pine trees all over. This weekend we re meeting Saturday at Dan’s place to load up and head out. OMW Racing is gonna put 7 racers on the line this weekend and we re coming to make some noise. We got Dan, Lance, Jeff, Channo, and Gerad all loaded up in the Green Manalishi for the ride out. Deanne and Josh are coming out later. Remember rule #1 when road trippin- always take the scenic route!! So we do. You know we re headed off the beaten path and we re gonna find that confounded bridge. As best we recall, there’s more than one bridge that crosses over Lake Livingston and we want the big one! The music is pumping, the tall doggs are falling and its official yo! We find the scenic route through the country side, we find that big ass bridge and next thing you know we re in the National forest.

TMBRA Race #3- Solvaca Cat Claw Challenge- 03/20/11: Dan and Lance keepin it real !

Who is Hardcore? Is that just an in your face right now thing or is it an I’ll be here all day thing? Maybe its a little bit of both. In this case its all the above and then some. That’s because Dan and Lance are gonna be there. We are gonna be there early. We will stay late. We will out do you on all fronts. Did I mention we will be there next weekend too?! We’re gonna do all that and more. Its just what people come to expect, besides its a lot of fun! We like to do it up right and take some names and leave some bodies on the floor, or the trail that is!
When no one else can make it happen, you can count on Dan and Lance to represent in loud and proud OMW Racing fashion n we’re gonna look good dooozin it! Hell, we’ve been racing our bikes all over the great state of Texas for a while now. They see us coming. We re headed up north this weekend to Glen Rose, Texas to the Solavaca Ranch. A beautiful little chunk of heaven just south of Fort Worth for the Cat Claw Challenge. We ve been here before and know what to expect. This place has about all you want. Tough climbs, rocks, roots, flats, and some cool air ops! I’ll take some of that cuz im thinking “what would Tom do?”. Ok, when Im racing I thought it would be helpful to occasionally ask myself that question to spur me on. It works well on the jumps and air ops cuz Tom is soooo smooth. But theres only one answer to the question when youre out on the trail suffering. The answer is Tom would CRUSH IT!! It sounds good pre race but its just hard to crush it Tom style when your bonking! I still try it and I still try and make Tom proud. Where is that mother scratcher? Cant we get a mid season sighting or something??
TMBRA Race #2- STORM Hill Country Challenge, 03/13/11: Another Barney Fife sighting

Race #2 is gonna be at the ever so leg crushing Flat Rock Ranch in Comfort Texas. Its not an Omnium this year which is a little disappointing cause OMW loves the Omnium and the Omnium loves OMW!! Its a straight up cross country race, one stage. That’s fine cause we just like racing our bikes and drinking beer!! We re meeting at Lances places on Saturday to head over to the ranch and set up camp and get a preride in. Looks like Dan, Lance, and Jeff get loaded up in the Green Manalishi with, new guy, Gerad (with a G) follows in his own ride. Gerad’s been wanting to try out racing and found our website and decided to come join our Friday TGIF rides in the park. Social media is amazing! Turns out Gerad is a strong rider and may just fit right in. We’ll give him a try out and see what happens.

Oh yeah, its that time again people. All the deposits have been made (really???) and now its time to start making some withdrawals. The 2011 TMBRA Texas State Championship Series is upon us. Time to get on that line and represent. How bout we go rock some new OMW kits, put the jammin cooler on 11, and collect some hardware?!! Race #1 is at Bluff Creek Ranch in Warda, Texas. Welcome back old friend! We got Tom and Shannon heading out from Toms home base out thru Giddings and we goti Dan, Lance, and Jeff in the green manalishi heading east on 71 thru Bastrop to La Grange. Deanne is staying with “Ready” Rob Remlinger and his lovely wife Janet in Smithville Texas for the weekend. Rob is racing Cat 2 Singlespeed on Sunday. Did I mention that this will be Jeff and Deannes first MTB race ever? I think we told them that Cat 3′s only have to do one lap. Oops, except Warda (and Coldspring but they dont know this yet, Oops again!)
